Over the past 150 years, we have been producing liquid specialties inspired by Swiss traditions and built on the Kindschi family's original recipes. Founded in the picturesque mountain areas of Grison (Graubünden) and now distributed throughout Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany.

A Taste of Swiss Traditions: Kindschi Röteli


Since the 1800s, Kindschi has been the largest producer of the traditional Swiss cherry liqueur "Röteli". The herbal sweet liqueur gained popularity in the mountain villages in the canton of Grison. Back in the days, during New Year's Eve, young farmer men would roam through the village, stopping at each family's door to offer their New Years greetings. In exchange, they would often receive a glass of homemade Röteli and cake. Since then, Röteli has not only become a festivity during winter season and après ski, but a year round sweet delight to be enjoyed throughout the country.

This traditional alpine herbal brandy draws inspiration from centuries-old Swiss drinking traditions, where herbal "Schnapps" and eaux de vie have long been cherished for both their medicinal and social purposes. While originally crafted for medicinal reasons, these aromatic spirits have evolved over time into a beloved digestif, enjoyed for their complex flavors and soothing qualities.

In the Swiss Alps, herbal brandies have been passed down through generations, with each region developing its own unique blend of herbs, roots, and spices. Today, this herbal brandy represents a refined evolution of that tradition, offering a carefully balanced taste experience that combines the richness of alpine herbs with the fruity warmth of pome fruit brandy.
